Conor McGregor named 24th highest earning athlete in the world by Forbes and top earning fighter

Money maker Conor McGregor is 24th highest paid athlete in the world 2016 according to Forbes.

He earned far more than Boxing's other major players. The UFC super star sits much higher than boxing giants Wladimir Klitschko, Canelo Alvarez and popular world champion Anthony Joshua.
He is on top of the fight world right now. In fact, McGregor is the highest earning combat sports star in the world by a large margin in 2016.

He shares his money spot with non other than a pro soccer player. McGregor is tied in 24th place with Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale with both men earning a total of $34 million last year.

The outspoken Irishman scooped $27 million in wages from the UFC after headlining three record-breaking events that made him an icon of the sport. Combined with the $7 million he made from sponsorship deals, it bumped his total to $34 million.

The 28-year-old McGregor made history at UFC 205 in Madison Square  by becoming the first ever two-weight world champion.

Undefeated 27 year old heavyweight Boxing champion Anthony Joshua sits at 89th place after earning a record $22 million. While Wladimir Klitschko earned $21.5 million last year.
