Russian President Vladimir Putin orders first withdrawal of Russian troops from Syria
After a phone call with Syria's leader Bashar al Assad Russian President Vladimir Putin during a Kremlin meeting with his defence Ministers and foreign Ministers, ordered that the Russian Military in Syria should start pulling out on Tuesday.
Putin stated that Russia's aim in Syria had been primarily been achieved and the effective work of the Russian Military in Syria had paved a way for cease fire and created the right atmosphere for the beginning of the peace process. And scored a major victory in the fight against global terrorism.
Putin also said that Russia will pull out the bulk of her forces, but will maintain a minor military personnel and an airbase for the purpose of monitoring the peace process.
