One of Trump's rival Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders came out to openly criticize Trump.

Boxer and legend Muhammad Ali died on Friday evening has been receiving a lot of tributes from public figures and celebrities.

Donald Trump paid tribute to Ali via Twitter and this is what he said.

"Muhammad Ali is dead at 74! A truly great champion and a wonderful guy. He will be missed by all!"

This came after US presidential candidate for the Republican party Donald Trump called for all Muslims to be banned from entering the US.  A statement he made sometime earlier this year and one that has continued to cause backlash.

Bernie Sanders, Trump's political rival had words to say to the outspoken presidential hopeful.

He critisized generally, everyone who praised Muhammad Ali and yet were prejudiced against Muslims in America.

Donald Trump and Ali had a low key friendship for over 30 years with the boxing legend attending many of Trump's organized events including his wedding 11 years ago.

Muhammad Ali never called Trump by name when he responded to the presidential candidate's ban Muslims remark.

This is what the greatest said.

"We as Muslims have to stand up to those who use Islam to advance their own personal agenda."

It was a clear and powerful statement and response to a remark which many believe to be out of place even for the outspoken Trump.
