Legendary actor Sir Roger Moore is dead aged 89 after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
The much loved James Bond actor passed away in Switzerland shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. His children shared the news to the world.
‘With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are all devastated,’ his family said in a statement.
Moore had a long and illustrious career in film and television and was for his iconic TV roles in The saint and The Persuaders. But the English actor was best known as the man who replaced Sean Connery as 007. He went on to star as the indefatigable spy in seven James Bond installments starting with Live and let die. He also starred in The man with the golden gun,For your eyes only,Moonraker,The spy who loved me,Octopussy and A view to a kill. He retired from the role aged 57.
