The British actor will play the Super spy 007 for the 5th time
To the delight of millions of the Franchise fans, Daniel Craig will play James Bond one more time. He will reprise his role as the famous British Secret Service agent 007 for the 5th time after all. Craig has starred as Bond in "Casino Royale," "Quantum of Solace," "Skyfall" and "Spectre." The New York Times got the confirmation from two sources close to production, and they stated that Daniel's return as the super spy is settled.
Following the super successful 'Spectre' in 2015 Craig’s return to the popular Franchise was a huge probability. Especially after the clearly exhausted actor publicly stated that he would rather break glass and slash his wrists, than do another Bond movie. Although in a later interview, he admitted that playing the spy was the "best job in the world"
After his wrist slashing statement, a diverse range of actors were considered to take over from him. There were Rumors that either one of the following actors could be the next 007— Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston Damian Lewis and even Poldak's Aiden Turner. But it was no secret that the 49 year old Craig was still the preferred choice.
However, there will be one big change in the production as Sam Mendes, who directed 'Skyfall and 'Spectre' is out. Despite the great box office success of both films, he would not be directing the next movie in the Franchise, which will be released in 2019.
