Taylor Swift who was last year's list topper with a staggering $170 million, mainly earned from her super successful 1989 tour, lost her top spot to non other than Queen Bey, who finished first by a huge margin.
Yep! you got it right. Beyoncé is the highest-earning female artiste this year. And she also happens to be one of the richest musicians in the world—male or female.
According to Forbes, The dethroned Swift this year as seen from records starting from June 2016 through June 2017. The Crazy in love singer earned a mind boggling $105 million pretax.
That was more than enough to surpass Swift who was last year’s highest earner. The 'Look what you made me do' crooner actually came in third after being surpassed by another musical goddess— Adele. The 25 singer came in second with an impressive $69 million earned in 2017, while Taylor Swift earned a not 'Shabby at all' $44 million to take third spot.
Beyoncé’s lucrative year can be attributed to her successful Formation World Tour, which followed her equally successful sixth studio album release—Lemonade.
You have to hear this to believe it. The 36 year old star's much hyped world tour grossed a quarter of a billion dollars!
The records didn't stop there either. In June, Beyonce scored another spot on the list of top earning celebs. She was ranked second in Forbes‘s list of the highest-earning celebrities. She was only out earned by the usual suspect Sean “Diddy” Combs who topped the list with $130 million.
Taylor Swift's year ended with a bang of course. This is due to her chart topping Reputation album which will definitely see her earnings skyrocket come spring next year.
