Not the best way to start your day. Imagine rushing to work, and getting stopped cold in your tracks by the fearsome sight of a giant snake seemingly waiting patiently for you to attempt getting into your car.
An Australian man who was eager to go out in the morning, opened his garage door and made for his car when he sensed he was being watched.
He was right.
Not a sight you want to ever encounter. The huge head of a Coastal carpet phyton poked from the ceiling beams, as the cold eyes stared pointedley at him.
Understandably the man's plans changed instantly and he dashed out of the garage to call Lalor the snake catcher.
When the snake expert arrived, he pointed out later that coastal carpet pythons might look a little scary, but they pose no threat to humans. He went ahead and escorted the snake out of the garage, just to help this homeowner get on his way.
"He was about to head off to work but couldn't get into this car," Lalor told Chinchilla News, adding that intervention like this isn't really necessary. "A big part of what we do is education. If we can get around relocating them, we will but if someone has a bad phobia we will come get it."
It's hard to feel at ease with any kind of snake in your living area—harmless or not. In the end, the "problem" solved was never really a problem to begin with — but it's fair to say that it was a memorable morning all around.
Not the kind of thing you'd want to start off your day with. But it sure puts your priorities in perspective when you experience something like that.
