Apart from the fact that they are both music legends in their own right, Victoria Beckham and Elton John have another unexpected connection. It has to do with the reason why she decided to turn her back on her pop career during that Spice Girl's ill-fated reunion tour back in 2008.
It was decision time. The singer revealed she realized she had lost her passion for performing after watching her close friend, the Iconic Sir Elton John singing in his show in Las Vegas.
In an interview with Vogue Australia the blooming fashion designer spoke about her reasons for not agreeing to the much anticipated 20th anniversary Spice Girls reunion following months of speculation about whether the group would get back together.
Former Scary Spice Melanie Brown frequently speaks about her desire for all five members of the girl group to reunite, despite Victoria's repeated insistence she wants to put her music career firmly in the past and focus on her successful but relatively new fashion brand.
It was claimed this week that an exasperated Mel B called Victoria names during a heated row over the reunion concerts.
Mel B is hoping to join Melanie Chisholm , Emma Bunton and Geri Horner in an upcoming tour, but details about the show haven't been revealed yet.
While speaking with magazine for their November issue, Victoria revealed this; "I always wanted to do fashion, so I was lucky that music was never my main passion. For the other girls it was.
"Every day someone says: 'Are you going on tour? You're the one who's stopping it.' For me, there was always something else I wanted to do. Plan B, phase two."
Their famous costumes where always the highlight for her. Victoria's interest in fashion stems back to her early Spice Girls days in the late 1990s and said she found their costumes appealed more than "getting on stage and dancing around".

The only reunion Victoria was involved in till date, only helped her reaffirm her decision to stay out of any future Spice girls concerts. After disbanding in 2000, the girl group got back together for The Return Of The Spice Girls world tour in 2007-2008.
It was an ill-fated reunion. However, they faced controversy after cutting the tour short and cancelling a string of dates in China, South Africa, Australia and Argentina, blaming "personal commitments". Disappointing tons of fans.
While on their US leg of the tour, Victoria went to see her pal Elton in Vegas and realised she didn't have the passion that he did. In fact, it was just the desire to have her kids see mummy doing her Spice thing that made it appealing at all.
She explained: "I was with Elton John this weekend and I told him: 'You're the reason why I stopped the Spice Girls.'
"I remember sitting there very near to the front and looking at him singing those songs he'd sung time after time, year after year, and his passion and his enjoyment was incredible, even after all that time."
It made a big impact on her. Passion is everything and she didn’t have it anymore for music; Not like Elton, or the rest of the group. A few days later, while performing at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Victoria admitted she felt "it's almost like a waste that I'm given this opportunity" to perform in front of thousands.
She has stood her ground so far, although fans are hoping she would give in someday soon.
