Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie split

Its official: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are heading to trial next month for a courtroom showdown in their bitter and drawn out custody battle.

Its been a tough and ugly war that has seen both parties go hot, cold and undecided at various periods of time. The two Hollywood stars are now set to fight it out in court, with December 4 set as the date for the start of a custody trial.

Initially, for the time being, they were reported to have reached an interim custody agreement regarding their six children in late summer.

But former agreements have now gone up in proverbial smoke, as negotiations appear to have broken down, and next month, the couple will ask a judge to rule on the custody battle over their six children, as well as their shared property, after it was revealed they had no prenup.

They have been given a time limit to resolve their affairs by the courts. The celebrity exes have filed paperwork in Los Angeles asking to be given until next June to hash out the details of their split with the help of a retired private judge.

Strangely, the actress is still fighting so that Pitt won't have any real access with the children. The proceedings will take place behind closed doors with Jolie seeking sole custody of the children. Pitt is pushing for shared custody.

When the romance began it looked like a match made in heaven, as their chemistry on and off screen was undeniable. The two stars, met on the set of the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, married in an intimate ceremony on August 23, 2014 in Correns, France. They split in September 2016.

Their Kids are now a major part of their legal battles. Between them, they share Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

An issue of assets division is also on the table. The private judge will also oversee the division of property as part of the divorce settlement since Pitt and Jolie didn't have a prenup.

But life and work has gone on for both stars, as 43 year old Jolie, has been in South Korea, while her 54 year old ex Pitt, is currently in Los Angeles filming the new Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

After a long period of verbal war and accusations, (especially from Jolie), finally in July 2017, Angelina addressed the split in an interview with Vanity Fair.

In an emotional statement, the actress revealed that 'things got bad' between the two, adding that 'It's just been the hardest time, and we're just kind of coming up for air.'

Net month will decide who gets custody of their adorable kids.

So sad.
