Anthony Joshua versus Deontay Wilder: Bronze Bomber rejects mega offer

- 3/21/2019
Heavyweight Boxing champion Deontay Wilder has made a move most people would consider insane.  He was given a chance to fight Anthony Joshua...Twice!  Aswell as one other fight to make three bouts total, all for a mamoth $100 million.

But the fighter known as the Bronze bomber declined, insisting that he “loves” being a free agent, hence he rejected a $100m+ deal from US broadcaster DAZN, according to reports by talksport.
Big disappointment. The news comes as a blow to fans who were hoping for a guaranteed undisputed title bout with Anthony Joshua, because the deal ensures the fight take place in 2019.

When will Anthony Joshua versus Deontay Wilder Heavyweight unification bout happen?

Just last week, boxing fans were given what turned out to be false hope as it emerged that Wilder would be meeting with the streaming service – who also broadcast AJ in America, to conclude a deal that will bring to fruition one of the most anticipated Boxing bouts in recent history.

According to the agreement, the WBC heavyweight champion was offered upwards of $100 million for three fights against Dominic Breazeale, Joshua and then AJ again in a rematch.

But he and his team rejected the offer and, when asked about this, the American heavy hitter explained why.

“So many people try to dictate my career and tell me, ‘I should do this, I should do that, I shouldn’t do this, I shouldn’t do that’,” Wilder said.

“$12.5m is laughable now, $15m is laughable. All this stuff I was supposed to have done, I didn’t do none of that and now look at my career.

“I’m betting on myself and you can’t go wrong with yourself.

“I love being a free agent, I love being able to move about doing what I do and we’ll see what the future holds.”

Breazeale became Wilder's mandatory fight after his much anticipated rematch with Tyson Fury fell through.

Now I guess we would have to wait to see the clash of the Champions, because it seems Wilder Versus Joshua is on hold again.
