Alcoholic Hollywood Actress Anne Hathaway quits destructive booze for son
It’s no more fun and games when it’s ruining your life. Hollywood actress Ann Hathaway would have been an alcoholic, whether or not she became a star.
Celebrities are usually under an immense kind of pressure. The kind that comes with being a public figure who has to live up to the larger than life image expected by the fans.
Unfortunately, many a star turn to the vices to escape the very celebrity status they once craved. But Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway is an exception.
The self confessed alcohol lover, has revealed she’s quit boozing because the destructive habit was making her ‘unavailable’ for her son.
Drinking has been a way of life for the 36-year-old Devil Wears Prada star for years. She believes if she’d not found fame she would have ended up a full blown alcoholic.
But now, she has resolved to change this for the sake of her child.
The dark haired beauty confessed that her daytime drinking sessions were leaving her with five-day hangovers.
A desperate move. She has now vowed not to touch another drop for the next 18 years!
So she could really be focused and healthy while raising son Jonathan, three, with husband Adam Shulman.
She explained her attachment to booze.
“I feel like a traitor. My issue is I just love it. So. Much,” she told Tatler of her attitude towards drinking.

“But the way I do it makes me unavailable for my son. My last hangover lasted for five days.”
The life of the party. Admitting she was never a one glass of wine kind of girl, she admitted that daytime sessions would often carry on through into the evening.

Of the last time she got drunk, she said, “I’d earned it: it was a day drinking session with friends that went into an evening birthday party with one of my drinking buddies.
“I will never be that person who can nurse a glass of wine throughout an entire evening.”
Speaking about how her future could have panned out if she’d not made it in Hollywood, actress Anne Hathaway added: “I could have seen myself being a teacher. Or going into the military. Or being some kind of do-gooder with a death wish.
“But more likely than anything else I would have been an alcoholic.”
Never an easy habit to kick, history is filled with Celebrities whose lives and careers were ruined by alcohol addiction.
